Street Art Fund & Main Street Mural ProjectWhy a Street Art Fund?Art is appreciated for myriad reasons. Public art has been shown to benefit communities broadly, as well as their residents and visitors. Don't take our word for it -- Gallup and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation explored this topic and more in a three year study of twenty six communities. A wealth of related information is available from their website. What is the first project? It's a Mural, on Main Street! Location? The side of the building you might know as the old "Silver Grill" -- a building which is being renovated, right next to Memorial Park. The wall that will be used is the one which faces Memorial Park, shown in the image below. How can I learn more?
How is it funded? The project is funded by donations from community groups and individual donors, including Perry Rotary Club; the Perry Main Street Association, its Mayors Matching Fund and new Street Art Fund; downtown business owners and individual donors. Can I make a donation to the Street Art Fund?Yes! You can make a donation online, or send in a check. What's the timeline?
Can I share my creative ideas?Absolutely! You can email ideas for the mural at Memorial Park to: perrymural@gmail.com |
